To become a Host Program volunteer you should be:

• A Canadian citizen or permanent resident
• Established and knowledgeable about your community
• Open to learning about and appreciating other cultures
• Willing to share your own cultural background and your appreciation of Canadian society
• Available approximately 2 hours a week, for 6 months to a year
  

If you think you would like to become a Host volunteer:

1. Contact the Host Program in your area. Staff will give you details on your local program and all the volunteer opportunities.

2. Be prepared to complete an application form, have a personal interview, supply references, and apply for a police record check.

3. Once you are in the program, you will take part in Host Volunteer training.
