Immediately after our first meeting, my volunteer friend from Tanzania started treating me like her own family member with a home visit and many telephone calls.
She took me out and showed me where and how to do my shopping in big stores. She shared with me all the useful information I needed on housing, employment. Although she is Muslim, she still helped me find a French-speaking church.
Our friendship is growing very fast and I am feeling really good and secured. I hope it’s going to be a long lasting relationship. Host Participant from Congo The Host Program helped us form a network of friendship that enabled us to adjust and settle faster in the Canadian way of life. This strengthened our optimism that in due time we’ll be in a place where we really ought to be. Host Participant from the Philippines
