The Partnership Handbook has been developed by the Labour Market Learning and Development Unit at Human Resources Development Canada. askON
askON is a real-time chat research and information service staffed by public and post-secondary libraries.askON staff respond to questions on a wide range of subjects. They provide research guidance and can help you navigate the Internet, your library's services, and other online resources. askON hours are:Monday through Thursday, from 1pm-8pm and Friday through Sunday 1pm-5pm. The service will be available up to 10 hours a week in French.(Closed on holidays.)

When you visit a settlement service provider organization (SPO), you will be asked for your name, date of birth, and immigration number or document. This brochure explains how the SPO and Citizenship and Immigration Canada uses the information, and how they protect your privacy.

Attracting and Retaining Immigrants - A Toolbox of Ideas
Government and non-government immigration professionals from across Canada have developed a Tool Box of information and practical ideas to help your community attract and retain new people. The Tool Box is a practical tool for smaller centres to use as they build a strategy to address the issues surrounding the attraction and retention of immigrants. It covers the breadth of issues and information necessary for diverse smaller centres to successfully implement their strategy.
Changing the Canvas
Changing the Canvas highlights the experiences of immigrants in the Canadian workforce. Real people tell their stories in videos. These stories remind us that real people live behind the statistics. The "media" page has links to current data and analysis on barriers to employment, poverty and racism facing immigrants and workers of colour. The site is managed by the Canadian Labour Congress with funding from the Welcoming Communities Initiative of Citizenship & Immigration Canada.
CIC Social Engagement and Integration Workshops 2008
